In Loving Memory of
Talbert Gerald Berg

of Sexsmith, Alberta
November 14, 1946 - March 20, 2021

Talbert Gerald Berg passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB, after a short battle with Covid-19.

Talbert was born in Sexsmith on November 14, 1946. Talbert was a quiet man with simple tastes who loved his family. His kids remember him taking them out to parks and going for ice cream. One memory that stands out in Gerald’s mind was when his dad brought him home a life-sized Papa Smurf. Gerald said it was bigger than him and he remembers his dad giving it to him with a big smile on his face. Talbert loved watching Heartland and Wrestlemania with his kids and particularly liked listening to wind chimes on a windy day.

Left to mourn his passing are his daughter Michelle; son Gerald; sister Donna; brother-in-law Norm (Bridget); and sisters-in-law: Jean (Marvin), Betty (Bob), and Effie.

He was predeceased by his parents Fridjoff and Marie, brothers Marvin and Bryce, as well as his dear wife Kathy in October of 2015.

The poem below is for Gerald and Michelle:

He never looked for praises- he was never one to boast,

He just went on quietly working for the ones he loved the most.

His dreams seldom spoken- his words were very few

And most of the time his worries went unspoken too.

He was there- a firm foundation through all our storms of life.

A sturdy hand to hold on to in times of stress and strife.

A true friend we could turn to when times were good or bad.

One of our greatest blessings. The man we called our Dad.

At Talbert’s request, there will be no funeral. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
